To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Sue Chalifoux Zephir as our next state senator for the Worcester & Middlesex district.
Sue is a thoughtful and successful at-large Leominster city councilor who doesn’t shy away from shaking things up — especially when standing up for investment in our public schools. As the head of Ginny’s Helping Hand, Sue helps feed upwards of 1,000 people per month — children and adults who would otherwise go hungry. As a trustee for the Leominster Public Library, Sue co-led the effort to expand and renovate the outdated structure to become a rare, modern gem in the city. Sue started her public advocacy in a fight to protect our drinking water from a misplaced development project.
These are just a few of the many ways Sue has helped our community, but what I really want to point out is that Sue has the dedication and the smarts to resolve community problems. Sue is able to do this because she is one of those exceptional people who knows how to build coalitions of supporters to advance shared priorities. If you believe the best indicator of future success is past success, you too will vote for Sue Chalifoux Zephir in the Democratic primary on Nov. 7.
