To the Editor:
Voters in this district have a genuine opportunity to elect someone with proven leadership and management ability as our next state senator. Sue Chalifoux Zephir has the requisite training and experience to serve with distinction as this area’s representative in the Massachusetts state Senate.
For the past eight years Sue has been a member of the Leominster City Council, where she has worked diligently to promote her community economically and culturally. She has the tenacity and determination to confront any challenge and then work cooperatively with people of different points of view to achieve practical, common sense solutions to political problems, in order to benefit the people she serves.
I know Sue to be a very compassionate person who understands the struggles of some residents in our greater community and who is committed to helping them become self-sufficient. She served on the Board of Directors of Our Father’s House, an agency which provides shelter to the homeless, housing and other support services to poor women with young children and therapeutic intervention for people in recovery from addiction. Currently, Sue is the executive director of Ginny’s Helping Hand, an agency which provides emergency services to people in need in our community.
At the same time Sue recognizes that the future of the North Central region and its citizens depends on a vibrant economy, affordable health care and high-quality education. She will work tirelessly to expand and strengthen our local economy and improve our health care and education systems so that all of us will benefit.
Let’s serve the best interests of our district and its citizens by electing Sue Chalifoux Zephir our next state senator!
